Every day thousands of children in Africa die from a lack of clean water.
Over the years, the Nyankonton Aid Foundation has supported education by installing mechanical boreholes and restrooms in a few particular school towns across the nation. Lack of safe and readily available water, sanitation, and hygiene has a specific negative impact on women and girls (WASH). They suffer during their periods.
Children who attend school daily must lug water from ponds and streams that are teeming with waterborne illnesses to their various homes and carry it to class. Due to illness and lost time, many students do not fully benefit from their educational experiences. When seeking water during school hours, some students are struck by passing cars.
