Every day, millions of women and children around the world walk long distances just to collect water for their families. In the communities where Drop in the Bucket works, the average round trip to collect water is approximately 3.75 miles (6 kilometers).
For most of us, walking 6K is a weekend activity or a fitness challenge. For many families in East Africa, it's part of everyday life.
By organizing a sponsored 6K Walk for Water, your school, club, workplace, or community can experience a small part of that journey while raising funds to help bring clean water closer to the people who need it most.

3.75 miles (6 km) is approximately the average round-trip distance many people in rural East Africa walk to collect water. By walking the same distance, you'll gain a better appreciation of why bringing clean water closer to schools and communities changes lives.
How It Works
Choose a date and invite your friends, classmates, coworkers, or community to participate.
Ask participants to collect sponsorships or make a donation to join the walk.
