Adagnyeko Primary School

En route to a different school in the Dokolo District, we passed a new-looking well at the Adagnyeko Primary School. Oddly enough, no one was using it to get water. This was unusual, as most wells have a line of people waiting to get water, especially if the well is near a school. We stopped to investigate and were surprised to hear that the well was new, but unfortunately was not functioning properly. Nobody at the school had any contact information regarding the people who had installed the well or the group that had paid for the work. We agreed to fix the well but only on the condition that the school formed a water committee and could prove to us in advance of the work that they were meeting, collecting funds and actually performing their duties. Once we were sure this was happening and after two random checks to see their books, the well was installed and is working great.
