Drop in the Bucket Africa water charity, Aryamareng East Community completed wells, Uganda Africa
Aryamareng East is in the Usuku sub-County of the Katakwi district in Uganda. Before the well was drilled, life was not easy for the residents of this community because they would have to spend hours every day looking for water. The local people are mainly cattle keepers and farmers and are very poor. Many of the children are not in school because of the lack of water. Everyone is confident that the new well will change that.
The district experiences very long dry seasons and the area suffers from frequent droughts. Many members of the community used to get sick from having to drink dirty water, so, the new well means better health for everyone.
