Maslow’s hierarchy of needs introduces an awakening lens on the truth about human motivation. This theory arranges a pyramid shaped hierarchy that categorizes the different stages of human needs. At the bottom of the hierarchy are the most fundamental needs in survival, physiological needs such as water, air and food. As we move up the hierarchy we find “survival mode” slowly disperses and at the very top of the pyramid we have self actualization, the human ability to create and find space for creativity, passion and craft. His theory is simple, one cannot find motivation or move up the hierarchy unless each individual level is satisfied. Levelling up and self-growth are not promotes unless you fulfil physiological need firstly. How can you have the capacity for education without fulfilling the most basic human need of hydrating your body? How can a child chase their dream, or even create futuristic goals while having to worry about how their body will survive another day. This is why this campaign is so important to me. Schools all across sub-saharan Africa have students who deserve to learn, play and simply live beyond life beyond the means of the most minimalistic lifestyle. Join me on this journey of potentially changing someones life.
