Located in the Lira District of northern Uganda, Amach Primary School was a recipient of one of our complete water systems. The well was installed in 2008 and the rest of the system soon followed.
The following was taken from the hydro-geological report we commissioned. Amach Primary School is located in Otweyotai village, Banya parish, Amach sub-county, in the Lira district.
Groundwater is the main water source in the area. Perennial surface water is only in the form of springs, traditional water holes, rivers and swamps.The idea of children drinking water from streams and ditches was not acceptable to us, so now they have a safe, clean source of drinking water.
