Before Drop in the Bucket drilled a well at the Kampala village in the Laguti sub-county of the Pader district in northern Uganda, the entire village was walking 2 kms everyday to get water from a muddy stream. Everybody knew that this water was not safe to drink, but it was the only water source around, so the villagers felt like they had no choice. Now Kampal community has its own high-yield borehole well. The new well produces more than 3 cubic meters of clean water per hour which is more than enough for this village’s needs.
