The local community in Lamdogi village had set up a school, but the school had no clean water. The staff and community wanted the school to grow in size, but they knew that without clean water that would never happen.
When Drop in the Bucket visited Lamdogi village, we knew that if we were to drill a well in the village, the location that would do the most good, was on the school property.
Our surveyor was able to locate water nearby and after drilling 50 meters down, we were able to install an India Mk ii hand pump on the well and now the school has a working borehole that provides a yield of 1.5 cubic meters of safe, clean water every hour. This is more than sufficient for the school’s needs.
