Lwokagulu (Nwoya) — Borehole Well

Before the well
Safe water was not available within the village. Households relied on distant and unreliable sources, increasing daily workloads and health risks.
What We Built in Lwokagulu Community
Drop in the Bucket drilled a community borehole well and installed a standard hand pump with a reinforced concrete apron and upgraded stainless-steel riser pipes. Pump testing confirmed a sustainable yield.
Lwokagulu now
Clean water is now available within the village for daily use, reducing collection time and supporting household health, school attendance, and livelihoods.
Use & Upkeep
A Water User Committee oversees daily use and cleanliness. Trained local hand pump technicians manage first-line maintenance.
