Onywako Primary School

The Onywako Primary School is in the Barr Sub-County of the Lira District of Uganda. The school has 676 pupils; 343 girls and 333 boys. There are 11 teachers and 28 orphans. The school was originally founded by the Catholic church, but was taken over by the government in 1986

Before the well the only water source was 1 km away from the school, which was too far for the school to use on a daily basis, so they urgently needed their own well. The school’s well is now shared with 4 neighboring villages, and was eagerly awaited by many of the people in the area.
