- Intervention: Drilled borehole well with India mk ii hand pump with stainless steel riser pipes, concrete apron, and drainage
- Status: Completed
Before
The school relied on a shallow waterhole a long walk from campus. The source was exposed and frequently contaminated, leading to time lost from lessons and inconsistent hygiene at school.
What We Built
Drop in the Bucket drilled a deep borehole on the school compound and installed an India mk ii hand pump with a reinforced concrete apron and drainage to keep the area clean and safe during busy school hours.
After
Clean water is now available on school grounds for drinking, handwashing, cooking, and routine cleaning. The on-compound location reduces travel time, supports regular hygiene, and keeps learners closer to class.
Use & Upkeep
The school administration oversees daily use and basic maintenance. For repairs beyond routine care, the school coordinates with local hand pump technicians and district authorities.
