St. Kizito Good Foundation Nursery and Primary School (Buyubu, Bulamagi) — Borehole Well
Project Snapshot
- Location: Buyubu village, Bulamagi Sub-county, Iganga District, Uganda
- School: St. Kizito Good Foundation Nursery & Primary School
- Learners Served: 711 (343 girls, 368 boys) + teachers/staff
- Intervention: Drilled borehole well with durable hand pump, concrete apron, and drainage
- Status: Completed
Before
Pupils and staff relied on a distant seasonal spring that would produce little to no water during the dry seasons. Water runs would cut into class time and handwashing was done using unsafe water.
What We Built
Drop in the Bucket drilled a deep borehole on campus and installed a community-standard hand pump with a reinforced concrete apron and drainage to keep the area clean and safe during busy school hours.
After
Clean water is now available on school grounds for drinking, handwashing, cooking, and routine cleaning. The shorter distance reduces time away from lessons and supports daily hygiene.
Use & Upkeep
The school administration oversees daily use and basic maintenance. For repairs beyond routine care, the school coordinates with local hand pump technicians and district authorities.
Notes

- Primary users: Students and staff during school hours
